If we have received data from you, we shall, in general, use these data only for the purposes for which we received or gathered the data.

Processing of the data for other purposes shall come into consideration only if the legal prerequisites for this under Article 6 (4) GDPR are met. In this case, we shall, of course, observe any and all duties to inform under Article 13 (3) GDPR and Article 14 (4) GDPR.

What is the legal basis for this?

In general, except where further specific legal provisions exist, Article 6 GDPR is the legal basis for the processing of personal data. In this respect, the following possibilities in particular come into consideration:

  • consent (Article 6 (1) a GDPR)
  • data processing for the performance of contracts (Article 6 (1) b GDPR)
  • data processing on the basis of a balancing of interests (Article 6 (1) f GDPR)
  • data processing for compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6 (1) c GDPR)
  • If personal data are processed on the basis of your consent, you shall have the right to revoke your consent in relation to us at any time with effect for the future.

If we process data on the basis of a balancing of interests, you, as the data subject, shall have the right, subject to the provisions of Article 21 GDPR, to opt out of the processing of your personal data.

For how long will the data be retained?

We shall process the data as long as necessary for the respective purpose.

Insofar as statutory retention duties apply, e. g. under commercial or fiscal law, the personal data concerned shall be retained as long as the retention duty applies. After the retention duty has expired, it shall be examined whether continued retention for processing purposes is necessary. If it is no longer necessary to retain the data, the data shall be erased.

In general, we shall, around the end of a calendar year, carry out an examination of data as regards the need for further processing. Owing to the quantity of the data, this examination shall take place with regard to specific data types or specific purposes of processing.

Of course, you may at any time (see below) request information on the data stored with us relating to your person and, if these data are no longer needed, request that the data be erased or that processing be restricted.

To which recipients will the data be passed on?

Your personal data shall be processed by us exclusively in computer centres in the Federal Republic of Germany.
